The pocketPANO "Rear Tilt 'n' Shift Frame" lens adapter follows the principles of all pocketPANO products: as compact and lightweight as possible, yet with
the greatest possible functionality and ease of use. The TS-E lens adapter is designed so that it can remain permanently on the lens, even if the assembly takes only a few seconds and no tools
are needed.
In the following, all important functions and properties are presented:
The pocketPANO "Rear Tilt 'n' Shift Frame" lens adapter is made to fit perfectly to your lens. The adapter ring engages around the narrow fixed area between focus ring and tilt
mechanism. The clamping on the entire circumference ensures a firm and secure fit without exerting too much force on the lens housing.
The pocketPANO "Rear Tilt 'n' Shift Frame" lens adapter for the TS-E 17mm and 24mm fits both the CANON TS-E 17mm f/4L and the TS-E 24mm f/3.5L II. The lens barrel of the
TS-E 50mm f/2.8L Macro is different, so this lens has a dedicated "Rear Tilt 'n' Shift Frame".
In contrast to other rear shift adapters, the pocketPANO "Rear Tilt 'n' Shift Frame" retains all the functions of your TS-E lens! All
controls are easy to reach and any combination of shift, tilt and rotation is possible, as would be the case without a clamping ring.
Even the depth of field scale covered by the clamping ring is engraved in the "Rear Tilt 'n' Shift Frame" and makes it easy to read and adjust the focus depth.
A highlight of the "Rear Tilt 'n' Shift Frame" is clearly its small size and minimal weight. The clamping ring has a thickness of only 6mm (1/4"), is additionally
reinforced at the points subjected to bending and weighs only 87.5g (0.19lb) complete with both Arca-compatible clamping plates!
Like all pocketPANO nodal point adapters, the "Rear Tilt 'n' Shift Frame" consists of a very lightweight, stable and resistant high-pressure laminate (HPL). HPL is about 6 times stiffer
than conventional engineering plastics and weighs only half as much as aluminum.
Since HPL does not have as hard surfaces and sharp edges as metals, there is no danger to the finish of your lens and there are no additional rubber pads or
similar needed. As a result, the clamping ring fits safely and precisely!
Two 90° offset Arca-compatible clamping plates with an all-round clamping profile ensure full flexibility and fast switching between portrait and landscape orientation. In combination with the
two rotation elements of the TS-E lenses, all possible combinations of portrait and landscape format, horizontal and vertical shifting and tilting can be realized.
The two clamp feet also have a 3/8" UNC tripod thread and a matching reducing adapter (to 1/4" UNC), which allows the installation of other clamps.
The installation of the "Rear Tilt 'n' Shift Frame" takes only a few seconds and does not require any tools. The lens is simply inserted into the lower half of the clamping ring, then
the upper half is closed and tightened with the hand screw. The grippy hand screw ensures a firm hold and ensures that the screw is not accidentally over tightened (as it would be possible with
tools).
Matching the "Rear Tilt 'n' Shift Frame" for the CANON TS-E 17mm f/4L and TS-E 24mm f/3.5L II, we offer a compact single row nodal point adapter: the
TS-E Panorama Head.
This is exactly matched to the TS-E lens clamp ring and offers two fixed positions for the two supported lenses CANON TS-E 17mm f/4L and TS-E 24mm f/3.5L
II.
The TS-E Panorama Head makes it easy to record single-row panoramas. In combination with the shift function of the lens, it can be used to create images with enormous angle of view (up
to 119° vertically with the TS-E 17mm and 101° with the TS-E 24mm and up to 360° horizontally).
Not available for the TS-E 50mm f/2.8L Macro!
The locking angles of the rotator can be adjusted to suit the lens used and the desired image orientation (60°/30°/20°/15°/free-rotating). With the integrated tool, the desired locking elements
are activated or deactivated without having to replace or disassemble any part. The 2mm Allen key sits well protected in a matching recess of the nodal head and is magnetically held.
The adjustment ring with engraved angle scale can be freely rotated by hand and provides a better overview of the start and end point of your panorama.
For maximum flexibility, the pocketPANO TS-E Panorama Head has an integrated clamp base with the proven Arca-Swiss compatible clamp profile and a 3/8" screw thread, and a matching adapter to reduce to the smaller 1/4" thread is included. Thus, the nodal head can be attached to any tripod.
The pocketPANO TS-E Panorama Head is designed so that the 150mm FH150 filter holder from BENRO, which is specially made for the Canon TS-E 17mm f/4L, can be used. The filter holder can be turned up to 80° to the left or to the right. When using the FH150 without the TS-E Panorama Head (only with the Rear Tilt 'n' Shift Frame), a full rotation is also possible.
...you can find in the manual. This is also included with every pocketPANO Rear Tilt 'n' Shift Frame and TS-E Panorama Head as a printed booklet.
If you've already wondered why we offer our products so cheaply: it's not because they're made in the Far East!
Quite the opposite: The entire production and assembly takes place in the middle of Germany, in Ilmenau in the Thuringian Forest.
In order to keep production costs low, the design of our adapters is designed to meet production requirements and
additional manual processing is kept to a minimum.
We pass this advantage on to you.
